The Role

Senior Financial Accountant, Dublin 24

Permanent -  HYBRID

Reports to:              Group Financial Controller

 

The role will include a wide range of financial control and accounting responsibilities ranging from financial reporting, asset management, general ledger management, interim and year end audit management and compliance with accounting standards, while also ensuring financial policies and procedures are clearly defined and implemented.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Prepare monthly financial reports including balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports and cashflow statements.

 

Support senior members of the executive in monitoring financial spend on certain projects ensuring the relevant financial controls and processes are implemented and financial and business risks identified and mitigated.

 

Manage elements of the general ledger, overseeing monthly balance sheet and banking reconciliations as well as inter-company reconciliations are finalised.

Ensure all monthly accruals, capitalisations and schedules are completed and report on the same.

 

  • Provide support and guidance to the team in ensuring tax compliances, VAT, PAYE, RCT and any other areas under the remit of the Finance Control Function.

 

  • Assist the Group Financial Controller in managing and delivering the interim audit and year end audit, liaising closely with the external audit team and driving efficiencies in the audit process.

 

  • Drive financial system improvements and documentation across the Health System, ensuring implementation of changes are embedded and documented in line with contemporary financial best practice,

 

  • Perform other ad-hoc and administrative dues as required supporting the Group Financial Controller.

 

  • Support the Group in implementing a Financial Shared Services model across all hospitals and ensuring the relevant finance processes are standardised across all hospitals.

 

Play a significant role in the implementation of improved financial systems and controls and the evolution of new revenue streams for the Group, in collaboration with other finance functions.

 

The Person

Relevant Accounting qualification (Qualified ACA / ACCA) or equivalent professional qualification.

Evidence of continual professional development.

3 years post qualification.

Excellent accounting and/or auditing skills.

Strong excel skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Negotiation and influencing skills.

Strong degree of self-sufficiency.

Excellent planning and organising skills including awareness of resource management and importance of value for money.

Be flexible, team orientated and a relationship builder and have a significant track record of achievement in this area.

Genuine interest in property and construction.

The Package

Annual leave entitlement:  30 days per annum pro rata each year.

Working Hours: The core working hours of attendance will be 35 hours per week.
