The Role
Leinster Appointments is currently recruiting for a permanent, full time role in Co. Offaly.
The role is fully office based
Salary negotiable depending on experience
Main duties:
- Design and implement cost-effective procurement strategies for ULMs and Shorts, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- Manage all aspects of procurement, including:
- Sourcing new and existing suppliers.
- Negotiating pricing and quality agreements.
- Maintaining supplier relationships and managing POs, orders, and stock placement.
- Support Key Account Managers and Customer Service teams with urgent procurement priorities and backorder resolution.
- Optimize supply chain processes to improve logistics, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay informed on market trends and identify opportunities for partnerships and innovative solutions that benefit the company, customers, and patients.
- Collaborate with senior management to review procurement data, set targets, and explore new supplier and commercial opportunities.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and compliance regulations.
- Monitor and manage inventory to reduce waste, optimize stock levels, and guarantee critical product availability.
- Create forecasts and track usage trends to maintain supply continuity.
- Provide clear direction, strategy, and goals for the team while fostering a supportive and innovative work environment.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members using a performance framework to drive success and talent growth.
- Drive innovation by introducing new procurement strategies, sourcing practices, and supplier partnerships to enhance decision-making and efficiency.
- Build collaborative relationships across departments, ensuring alignment on company goals and customer-focused outcomes.
- Continuously monitor and improve quality, accuracy, and consistency in all processes.
- Champion emerging trends and solutions that align with company growth ambitions.
- Promote a coaching culture and actively contribute to team retention and development.
The Person
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in management sourcing / procurement role within the Pharmaceutical / Medical Device sector.
- Strong business acumen.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and working to strict deadlines.
- Proven organisation and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate proficiency managing analytically rigorous initiatives.
- High level proficiency in the MS Office Suite required
