The Role
Assistant Financial Controller - Permanent
Kildare Town (fully office based)
Purpose: To assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of finance as well as improving and developing reports and processes. This is a full time hands on role, with career development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure Management accounts and all financial reporting including Key Performance indicators are delivered monthly
• Preparation of Annual Budget and rolling forecasts
• Preparation of annual syndicate accounts.
• Cash Management including monthly cashflow forecasts and management of banking relationships.
• Preparation and submission of bi-monthly vat return and ensuring that all revenue returns are completed and up to date.
• Preparation of annual statutory accounts. Liaising with auditors and preparation of audit schedules and management of audit queries.
• Main Point of contact for Internal Auditors and engaging with them on various finance-related matters
Other Responsibilities:
• Working with department managers on cost management and control.
• Working with Credit Controller to improve processes and collections.
• Working with Procurement department and Payables to ensure compliance and participation on evaluation panels as required.
• Management of Exchequer accounting system including systems review and development of reports
• Preparation and distribution of board reports
• Ad hoc requests for other finance data or reports as directed by the Financial Controller or CEO
The Person
Key Skills:
• Qualified accountant with 3 years+ PQE
• Play a critical role in a small, committed finance team
• Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of the horse Industry would be an advantage
