The Role

 Assistant Accountant Contract 6-9 months

To start in Jan 2025

Location: Dublin 12  - Office based

 

Our client is  seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team on a contract basis to provide maternity cover for an existing position..

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & IT, this is a great opportunity to develop your career and gain broader financial accounting experience.

Accountabilities
Month End Accounts to Trial Balance
VAT Returns
VIES and INTRASTAT
Cashflow forecasting.
Customs and ROS TAN
Invoice Discounting Reconciliations
Customer and Supplier Pricing updates
Monthly GP Pricing analysis.
Overhead Analysis
Other Bank Reconciliations
Reconcile Stock Differences Gains/Losses
Review and process any outstanding stock returns for A/R and A/P
Knowledge of SAP B1, SAP HANA

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements & reports.
Monitor budget performance & report on variances.
Manage relationship, reconciliations and audits with Invoice Discounting bank.
Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT, VIES and INTRASTAT returns.
Manage relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders (Customers and Suppliers) to resolve queries.
Attend and contribute to weekly EOS LlO meetings. Complete weekly scorecard, complete "To Dos" and "Rocks"
Act as the Independent Auditor for ISO and carry out and report to management on internal audits undertaken and audit recommendations and improvements.
Ensure all processes are followed as per Core Processes and ISO.
Oversee the Complaints Log ensuring all issues are dealt with appropriately and closed out.
Customer Returns: Ensure Returns are processed as per procedure and Returns Log
Assist the Finance Director in investigating system issues and testing and implementing any changes and improvements identified.
Cover for other Finance department staff on annual leave or sickness.
Provide support and training to Colleagues as required.
Other ad hoc duties as designated by senior management.

The Person

The Candidate:
Accounting Technician or Part qualified accountant
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a high-volume accounts department.
Excellent computer-literacy skills, particularly Excel.
Experience of working with ERP systems especially SAP an advantage
Ability to work independently within the Finance Team and use own initiative
Excellent Analytical Skills and attention to detail
