The Role

Leinster Appointments is currently recruiting for a Transport Team Leader in Dublin 22.

This is a permanent, full time role.

Salary 9am - 6pm or 8am - 5pm

Main duties:

  • Allocate customer sales to transportation options in a cost-effective and efficient manner for domestic, import, and export deliveries.
  • Plan and manage transport routes, including linehauls, for UK and Ireland operations.
  • Ensure all customer delivery requests within the UK and Ireland are fulfilled.
  • Maintain strong relationships with hauliers and customers.
  • Generate reports and delivery schedules for customers and internal departments.
  • Communicate with Customer Services, Customs, and Sales to resolve issues that may impact delivery times, ensuring customers are updated promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to confirm accurate order details before scheduling deliveries.
  • Work closely with Customs to ensure accurate information is provided for collections and deliveries.
  • Manage workload independently, multitasking across various communication platforms with customers.
  • Keep accurate records and provide timely information when needed.
  • Maintain a high standard of work, taking responsibility for task completion.
  • Meet performance targets and deadlines within agreed time frames.
  • Show initiative, confidence, and the ability to work independently.
  • Uphold company values and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Foster positive relationships and communication within the company.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve performance and service delivery for customers.

The Person

  • Must hold a valid Category B driving license.
  • Experience in cost-efficient job planning.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong time management and ability to adhere to timetables.
  • Good geographical knowledge of Ireland.
  • Positive and efficient work attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in literacy and numeracy with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility in working hours and shift patterns to meet business needs.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing needs.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
